STEREOTYPING
The assumptions made during the first assignment were in the right direction, but in reality there is a much more deeper approach. In the beginning, we were still working very basic. We have now focussed on a more specific group. Still we believe that creatures of the night(mare) live in the dark and are moreoften scary, whether their appearance is similar to our understanding or not.

We are curious about what more stereotypes we can find with the survey we will be doing. We all believe that stereotypes are not negative or bad per se since it is a way of the brain to declutter information, only when they are used as an excuse for negative behaviour.

These nightmares and their creatures are stereotyped by our own mind and society around us. No one likes to have a negative view on the world around them, so even when opressing these believes during the day, at night they will catch up. This is in western culture slowly getting recognized, although there are still people that believe taking mental health day is just an excuse to be lazy.
Excising stereotypes
1. Boogieman
2. Weird guy with unibrow
3. Spiders
4. Nightmares are bad in general
5. Zombies

3. Effect of stereotypes
Spreads
Horrormovies and stories spreads the stereotypes about nightmares. It think the stereotypes we have about nightmares are more related to what we see in horrormovies than the real nightmares that people have.
Besides, I think society also makes nightmare creatures or spiders more creepy than it is, maybe in some cultures a nightmare is a holy something.

Reversing approach
There are people who train lucid dreaming or have this fetisj for sleep paralysis. Besides, the horror things we see in movies people try to find them in real life. So for example ghost busters or people that are looking for aliens etc.

Assumptions
- They are sad
- They are lonely
- They are mad
- They want to harm you
- They are not real
- They are not tangible

Interests
My interests in this group because it is different for everyone that dreams.
Those creatures of the nightmare are in your own head and created by the
persons theirselves what makes it different for everyone else.

I relate to this group since I have super vivid nightmares and vivid dreams.
Those creatures of the nightmare are the creatures that you have in your own
head and what you have to process during the day. So since that is happening,
you are more or less your own nightmare. But to zoom in on the nightmare creatures,
those are also made bigger and scarier by horror movies and stories.
